The Security Council is one of the six main organs established by the UN Charter. It's primary responsibility is maintaining international peace and security.

All members of the United Nations agree to accept and carry out the decisions of the Security Council. While other organs of the United Nations make recommendations to member states, only the Security Council has the power to make decisions that member nations are then obligated to implement under the Charter. Clara Rincón

Clara Rincón is in her first year of university, she studies Law in Universitat Pompeu Fabra. She was born in Spain and has been participating in MUN conferences for the last four years. Clara has attended numerous conferences, both nationally and internationally, including PORGMUN in Prague. She is happy to say that she has participated in BIMUN since its second edition, and it will be her second time chairing this conference, since she chaired the UNODC last year. 
Clara has been selected as best delegate twice and she is really looking forward to serve as  Chair of the Security Council, since this committee has a special place in her heart. Apart of MUN, she has also participated in the European Youth Parliament, were she was selected for the National and afterwards, for the International Session. 
As she is chairing the SC, she expects that her delegates will have a very fruitful debate, as well as a lot of fun. 
She can’t wait for BIMUN 2020 to begin!

Kaan Karatas

Kaan Karataş is a junior in Saint Joseph French High School of Istanbul. He was born in Mersin, Turkey in 2002 and he moved to Istanbul in 2005. He has been doing MUN since his freshman year. He has attended numerous conferences in Turkey and a couple conferences abroad such as SAIMUN in Dublin. He has three chairing experiences, two of which were in the Security Council. He enjoys chairing the SC the most, and he is looking forward to seeing fruitful debates and meeting enthusiastic delegates.
